Cute printable phonics game to help with reading and spelling.

How to play:
Lay all cards from one category (compound words, closed syllables, open syllables) with the word side facing down. Keep cards with brown outlines in a separate from the green outlines.
Take turns flipping two cards over at a time trying to get a match. (one card from brown cards and one from green)
Each player must read the syllables to see if they made a match.
Keep the answer sheet displayed to double check your word and make sure it's one of the matches (since there may be some combos that make real words but isn't on this list)
If the player gets a match, they get to take another turn and so on until they do not get a match, then it's the next persons turn.
Once all cards have been matched, each player counts how many pairs they have. Whoever has the most wins.

Each category has a few different animals on the backs, this will make it easier to make matches. Print double sided (front and back of paper). My printer will not print front and back on cardstock (jams every time it tries to flip it) so I just print one side, insert it upside down, and print the other side. Or you could print on regular printer paper and then laminate.
